Yesterday afternoon my Dad and I went to the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. We left at 3:00 then had to tram to Ang Mo Kio station then had to bus from there to the zoo, the bus ride took about 50 minutes. We eventually got there at 4:30 purchased the tickets, we walked around the zoo and managed to see nearly everything in around 1 hour and a half. The first animal we saw a pack of flamingo we also saw. Did you know that flamingos are actually born with grey feathers but turn pink in the wild because of the pink dye called canthaxanthin that they obtain from the diet of brine shrimp and blue-green algae? We also saw a white tiger swimming in the water because of how hot it was, next we saw the snakes part of the zoo there were lots of snakes and lizards. Next we saw the elephants of Asia they had three of them out and they were just eating they leaves casually. Soon after we went over to the cold part of the zoo the area that had the penguins, these penguins all had a set spot for them to sit on and just sat there talking, we also got to see the polar bear enclosure but sadly the polar bear wasn’t out at the time we went.

Next up was the night safari, we went in at about 7:30 when it opened at 7:15 and had to wait 45 minutes until we got to the front and could catch one of the trams. Again we saw another flock of flamingo except there were more of these, we also saw the Indian Rhinoceros and a white lion, there was a Malaysian Tiger that was the only animal behind glass to stop it from getting out of its enclosure and it still looked like to wanted to escape. There was a massive elephant that stood 3 metres tall it was the father of a baby 6 month old elephant but stated on the other side of the others the last animal we saw some little birds then that was the end. We got back to our hotel at around 10:30
